2. Core Principle
The Klikkr app is built with a privacy-first approach. The app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. There are no user accounts, no cloud sync, and no tracking analytics.
3. Local Storage Only
All match data, scores, settings, and paired wristbands are stored strictly locally on your device. No data is transmitted to external servers.
4. Required Permissions
To function as a display and remote control for the Klikkr wristbands, the app requires the following device permissions:
Bluetooth (BLE)
This permission is essential. It allows your phone to discover, connect to, and exchange score data with the Klikkr wristbands via Bluetooth Low Energy. Optionally, it mirrors the score to a second phone (Display Mirror); that connection runs directly between the two devices. No Bluetooth data is shared with third parties.
Camera
The camera is used for the built-in QR code scanner, which lets you pair Klikkr wristbands (MAC addresses) quickly, and for picking a player color from the camera image. The camera is only activated when you explicitly open the scanner or the color picker. No images or videos are captured or stored.
Location (Android 11 and older only)
On older Android versions, scanning for nearby Bluetooth devices requires the "Fine Location" permission due to the underlying system architecture.
We do not determine, read, store, or share your physical location at any time.
5. Smartwatch (Wear OS and Apple Watch)
If you use a smartwatch as a Klikkr, the watch and the phone exchange inputs, the score, and the players' colors and initials. The app uses the connection the operating system provides between the watch and its paired phone (Wear OS Data Layer or Apple WatchConnectivity). This data stays on your devices and is not transmitted to us or to third parties.
6. Apple Health (Apple Watch only)
So that the Apple Watch keeps counting while your wrist is down, the app runs a workout session through HealthKit during a match. For this, the watch asks once for permission to write workouts. The app reads no health data, does not save the workout to the Health app when the match ends, and does not use health data for advertising or any other purpose.
7. In-App Purchase
The smartwatch feature can be unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase. Payment is handled by Google Play or Apple's App Store; we receive no payment or account data. The app only learns from the store whether the purchase exists and stores that information locally on the device. The privacy policies of Google or Apple also apply to the purchase.
8. No Third-Party Sharing
The Klikkr app does not share any data with third parties. There are no ad networks, analytics tools, crash reporting services, or any other third-party integrations. Your usage remains entirely private.
9. Data Deletion
Since all data is stored exclusively on your device, simply uninstalling the app permanently deletes all associated data. No data remains on external servers.
